Chanel has a new face for its best-known men's fragrance: on 23 April 2026 the house confirmed actor Jacob Elordi as the successor to Timothée Chalamet. Bleu de Chanel Jacob Elordi is a campaign story, not a new formula, so the Bleu de Chanel eau de parfum on our shelves smells exactly as it did before.
Key takeaways
- Jacob Elordi was announced as the new face of Bleu de Chanel on 23 April 2026.
- His first film, The Chase, was directed by Alfonso Cuarón and released in May 2026.
- No change to the fragrance itself was announced.
Bleu de Chanel Jacob Elordi: what is confirmed
Cosmetics Business and the Irish Examiner both reported the appointment on 23 April 2026. Thomas du Pré de Saint Maur, who leads Chanel's global creative resources for fragrance and beauty, said the actor "perfectly embodies Bleu de Chanel". Elordi called it an honour to join the story. He already knew the house: in 2024 he appeared with Margot Robbie in See You at 5, Luca Guadagnino's film for Chanel N°5.
The first Bleu de Chanel Jacob Elordi commercial followed in May. According to Attitude, it is called The Chase, it was directed by Alfonso Cuarón, and it promotes L'Exclusif, the newest version of the line.
What changes for Bleu de Chanel EDP wearers
In the bottle, nothing. The new face of Bleu de Chanel brings a new mood to the advertising, but the eau de parfum keeps its woody aromatic structure. The notes published for the line open with grapefruit, lemon, mint and pink pepper, move through ginger, nutmeg and jasmine, and settle on incense, cedar and sandalwood.
The useful detail for anyone choosing a version is the concentration. The original eau de toilette of 2010 is the brighter, more citrus-led take; the eau de parfum that followed in 2014 is generally described as rounder, with the woods and incense coming forward sooner in the dry-down.
A new face rarely changes a fragrance, but it often changes who decides to give it a second chance.

Context: fifteen years of faces, and one constant rival
Bleu de Chanel launched in 2010, created by Jacques Polge, with Gaspard Ulliel as its face in a film by Martin Scorsese. Ulliel remained the face for twelve years, until his death in January 2022, and Chalamet took over in 2023. Elordi now continues that line of actors chosen for a quiet, modern masculinity.
The comparison people search most is still Bleu de Chanel vs Dior Sauvage. Dior Sauvage Eau de Parfum is louder, built on bergamot, pepper and a strong ambroxan trail, while Bleu de Chanel is smoother and more polished. If the campaign has made you curious, wear the two side by side for a day before you buy a bottle. Both are in our men's sample collection, alongside the other Chanel perfume samples.
